CUSHION NARGIS FLORA MULTI 35X50 CM

Some embroidery is meant to be finished quickly. Nargis is not that.

The blooms are large and unhurried — a full peony-like flower at centre left, its petals worked in layers of blush and deep rose with a tufted pompom heart; beside it, a looser bloom in the same family, more open, less certain. Stems in warm tobacco brown carry the composition rightward into trailing leaves, scattered berries, and smaller buds that haven't decided to open yet. The stitchwork mixes techniques — satin stitch, stem stitch, French knots, cut-pile tufting — the way a garden mixes plants. Not designed, exactly. Accumulated.

The ground is slub cotton in natural ivory, textured enough to hold the embroidery without flattening it. An olive-green running stitch frames all four edges — hand-stitched, slightly imperfect, the mark of something made rather than manufactured.

It sits best on a reading chair, a linen sofa, or anywhere a person goes to be quietly by themselves.
